After three months of cruising through Australia in our Spaceships Campervan, we stayed a couple more nights in an AirBnB apartment in Sydney, before flying to  Christchurch. Darren’s AirBnB apartment in Sydney, where we stayed for four nights before starting our Australian road trip, was unfortunately not available for that period. However, we found another great place to stay through AirBnB: a room in Beverley's home. We stayed for three nights, costing us €179 in total.

Beverley welcomed us in her house, gave us a tour and told us to make ourselves at home. She didn’t have to say that twice. We hauled in all of our stuff, checked out the WiFi connection (hadn’t had such a great one in a while), and left to return our Spaceships Campervan.

We shared the house with Beverley (the owner), and another AirBnB guest couple. We had a private room, as did the other couple and Beverley herself. The bathroom was shared with the other guests. Beverley let us use her fridge, her kitchen, her living room, her washing machine and her clothes line. Everything basically. She was very friendly and always helpful. We didn’t see her that much, just crossed her sometimes in the shared spaces. I loved the front of her house, so cute that little gate! Not very practical though, but who cares about that?!

The bedroom was rather small, but you really only sleep there, so no biggie. I decided to leave my hat hanging on the mirror, it looked great and we wouldn’t need it in New Zealand (in the fall) anyway. Beverley seemed to like it! The bathroom was the room next to ours, and like I said, we shared it with the other AirBnB guests. It was clean, she left towels for us, and there was soap and shampoo.

The location of Beverley’s house is great, it’s close to the Redfern railway station (a 5 minute walk), with a grocery shop (Spar) right across from it. Just buy an Opal Card, top it up with some money, and the train will take you anywhere you want.

We were pleased with our stay at Beverley’s house. She’s very friendly, the WiFi is great, and the train station, the gateway to all of Sydney, is at a 5 minute walk. What more do you need?
