Our stay at Arca Bungalow in Legian

After 5 nights at Coco Beach Hostel in Kuta, we moved to Arca Bungalow, situated somewhat closer to our surf instructor. We paid $129.04 for 4 nights (a little more than usual) and had quite high expectations after seeing the Arca Bungalow photos online.

We got a very nice welcome with a welcome drink (orange juice), but not much information about the breakfast, towels and the pool. The owner and staff were very friendly though and always at our service when we had a question or needed something.

The room was real spacious with a front door leading to the lovely garden. We had a private bathroom (without soap dispenser) and a mosquito net was draped over the bed. There was a fridge and an airconditioning system with remote, which unfortunately didn’t work from the bed. The only, but huge drawback was the frustratingly slow WiFi connection. However, according to the reviews on Agoda, it’s fast now. Let us know if you visit!

It’s a bit of a walk from Arca Bungalow to the beach (about 10-15 minutes), but there’s a small pool with two sun beds for a refreshing swim. They come make your bed and empty the bins every day, but when you need fresh towels or more toilet paper, you have to ask.

Breakfast was included and delicious! You have to go order at the reception and they’ll bring it to your room. We always had our breakfast right outside our door on the small table in the garden. You can order your eggs the way you like them and choose juice, coffee or tea. Two mornings we had to get breakfast at a restaurant right around the corner, where they serve delicious pancakes as well.

Overall we were pleased with our stay at Arca Bungalow in Legian. The room was nice, the staff was really friendly and the breakfast delicious. The slow WiFi connection will keep us from returning, although we’ve read it’s supposed to be fast now. Anyway, if you’re looking for a nice and quiet place away from the busy “connected” life, this place is perfect.
