Unfortunately we spent only two nights at Mui Ne Hills Budget Hotel ($16 per night). We had to cut our visit to Mui Ne short, due to unforeseen circumstances in Huế (Brecht’s dengue fever). Nevertheless we really enjoyed our stay at this lovely hotel.
Apparently the owner is also Belgian, so we got an upgrade from a standard to a deluxe room, score! Guess the only difference is the fact that the deluxe room is a bit more spacious, but hey, free upgrades are always great. Our (deluxe) room had a private bathroom (with soap dispenser), a fridge, a fan and airconditioning with remote. We got fresh towels and toilet paper every day and the WiFi connection in our room was OK, not great. The staff was really friendly, both at the reception and in the Breeze restaurant at the Mui Ne Hills Bliss Hotel, a three minute walk from our room.
Breakfast was not included in our stay, but for $2 or $4 you could get a decent or large breakfast at Breeze Restaurant. You could choose a Western (eggs) or Vietnamese (noodles) breakfast. We didn’t try it, because we had an early lunch both days. We did have all our other meals at the Breeze Restaurant, where you get a 50% discount when staying at one of Mui Ne Hills hotels. We liked every single dish we tried here, both Western and Asian. Our absolute favourite was the beef sirloin steak: a heavenly piece of meat! You should definitely try it. God, we miss having a good steak now and then while we’re in Asia.
At the Breeze Restaurant there is a bar, a swimming pool, tables, a pool table, sunbeds, a great view and a good WiFi connection. Perfect for both relaxing and getting some work done. There’s also a beach volley net with a daily game at 4pm. The restaurant is open to the public as well and always busy, especially at night, so you’d do good to make reservations for dinner. At Mui Ne Hills Budget Hotel, there’s a swimming pool too, but we preferred the Breeze pool, with cold drinks just a friendly waiter away.
The hotel is not that far from to the beach (although it’s a bit of a steep walk), but we have to admit we didn’t check it out. We only left the hotel to do the jeep tour, one of the tours offered by the hotel. Mui Ne Hills also rents out bikes and has a laundry service.
We truly loved our stay at Mui Ne Hills Budget Hotel in Mui Ne. It’s the perfect spot to relax by the pool, get a tan and enjoy some great food, all in one place. You can get some action too, as the hotel offers a range of tours and rents out bikes. Too bad we were only there for two nights.
